Singulus, where art thou?

I wrote a tardy e-mail to a former fellow blogger earlier this evening, only to get an auto-responder saying that his e-mail account had been closed.
If you're out there, can you please let me know your current e-mail? I was looking forward to an update... (sigh)

For fuck's sake! It was just a sign!
Anti-Bush Sign Has Bridge World in an Uproar
By STEPHANIE STROM

In a fight reminiscent of the brouhaha over an anti-Bush statement by Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks in 2003, a team of women who represented the United States at the world bridge championships in Shanghai last month is facing sanctions for a spur-of-the-moment protest.

OK, done sulking.

After a two-hour shaolin lesson last night - when the sifu joins, you know you're going to crawl out instead of walk out - I decided to quit being so depressed about my finances. I have not yet begun to plot and scheme a way out of my money woes.
It's not like I don't have any options. For example, I could:
Find some freelance work
Take in a lodger
Somehow unload the spare car (kind of stuck on that one, it's hard to unload a Cadillac Catera, even one with a brand-new transmission and low miles)
Sell stuff around the house I don't want (plenty of that)
Can't resort to prostitution though, as I'm sadly past my sell-by date. Sigh.
Crap! I'm hosed.

Today I finally did what I'd been postponing for two months, which is to add up my post-marriage budget. Considering that I'm paid twice a month, and that the mortgage payment eats more than one of those two paychecks, it looks like I am in seriously deep chit.
I think I better start eBaying some stuff.
